Due to the reduced complexity (less than 100.000 lines of code) of security-critical components of the PERSEUS security architecture an evaluation according to the Common Criteria seems to be possible and affordable. Moreover, the fact that changes of security-critical components occur only infrequently makes an evaluation reasonable (cmp. Figure 1).

We therefore aim at evaluating the PERSEUS platform according to the Common Criteria at a later date. Nevertheless, we try to keep the development process as close as possible to the requirements of the Common Criteria to decrease the costs of a later evaluation.
